STORY STARTER

Write a diary entry of a terminally ill patient.

Does this character feel fear, calm, sadness? What might they articulate to a private diary entry?

My Love

Do not cry for me, my love, for now I know no pain.

The cloaked one called my name, my love, and I answered with a smile.

Death took my hand, my love, and She is beautiful.

All these years of internal torment now silent, the shadow that once cast a darkness over my eyes now turns into light in an instant.

She takes me into Her embrace.

And I quieten.

My withering heart beats once, twice,

Gone.

Do not mourn for me, my love, rejoice in the knowledge that I am at peace.

Look up to the stars, my love.

And find me waiting for you, in another life.
