“You are toxic, James! Everything you touch dies!” Croaked Clare.

“Well, duh. It’s in my dna to be dangerous. Look, it was nice spending time with you, but-“

“It’s her, isn’t it?” Clare interrupted. “That blue hussy that keeps trying to take you from me.”

James blinked. “It’s not my fault females just throw themselves at me.”

“WE HAVE KIDS!” Clare screamed.

James glanced at the bundles of joy he had looked after for a few days.

Then he hopped off the tree, away from a sobbing Clare and her tadpoles that squirmed in the leaf’s puddle.

He didn’t say anything as he climbed the tree to where his next conquest was waiting, because poison dart frogs are toxic in more ways than one.
