Describe a moment in life which seems to last forever.
You could write this as a poem or story, or as a descriptive paragraph.
Measures Taken
Needles in the yard
of my best friend
The neighbors seem to litter
as they gasp for breathe
Maybe dope, maybe meth
Cops being called on the druggies on the left
Children’s dancing to the beat
As theirs sellers on the street
Buy a baggie
The nexts ones free
Business is our virtue
I’m not tryna hurt you
No , no
Calling the police even though it’s a threat
My friends in the back seat losing his breathe
Knocked out, drenched in sweat
Non responsive
He’s on trip
Maybe death or maybe bliss
I don’t know, he’s on the road
I don’t know, he’s gone back home
I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know
Burnt up buds of cigarettes
On the top of a girls bunk bed
I don’t know, this is her home
I don’t know I don’t know
Mothers crying
Children’s flying
Brothers dying
Fathers lying
Uncles gone to dinner with a man named wash
He was loving his time
He talked and talked
I don’t know, this is his home
Don’t get mad at the situation
Please understand, but there’s discrimination
Measures taken for the best
But they don’t want to get off meth
That’s the string that holds them together
It’s choking them but they swear their better
They’ll always be better
I don’t know this is our home
this is the normal lively life
Sedation infestation
What’s more to like
More to like
This my home
This my home
I know my home
