When The Rain Pours

Chills running down my spine

My bones aching

Every turn I take, I was met with it’s watchful stare

There was no escaping

Faster and faster

I ran to the point of exhaustion

Puddles of water splattering with each step

Soaked shoes slowing me down

I couldn’t stop

Not yet, just a little longer

I turn into the darkness

Running into the storms

Thunder strikes bringing me to a halt

I shouldn’t have stopped

My breath hitched, as I take a step back running away

I had to escape it

Faster and faster

As quick as my legs carried me

I look up as the dark clouds chased me

Ready to consume me whole

As my speed quickens at the lights of safety

Adrenaline coursing through me

Just a little longer

The wind howls

The thunder strikes again

The end was near

Pellets bleeding through my clothes

I stopped and dropped to my knees

I’ve ran out of time

It’s cold touch wraps around me

I knew what was nexted

The end

I was nothing

Just Drenched yet Drained

The storm has fully consumed me

Who was I fooling

I couldn’t beat the rain

Resting on the ground as the lights fade out

My aching bones screaming

I always hated the rain
