For Now You Have Forgiven Me
Tyrian laces bloom in tide,
Scarlet roses, I confide,
A blossom yours, I dare to see;
For now you have forgiven me—
The rivers sang to bless my stride;
The hornets kind, and mellow eyed,
The adders bide their sting, I see;
For now you have forgiven me—
The rivers cup a salmon fare,
The waters deep, a golden glare,
In sun, they flutter carelessly;
For now you have forgiven me—
The pines who loom about the air,
One way of fear, and one despair,
Now I view them graciously;
For now you have forgiven me—
Thunder now I may abide
With peace and love on every side;
The hailing patters uselessly;
For now you have forgiven me—
