Them.
From the first person perspective of your character, write about someone they despise OR idolise a little too much...
Them.
Her.
With her brown flowing hair and green eyes to match—of course, never forgetting the little brown specks in them—she was truly an angel from heaven.
I watched carefully from the bushes. Watching. Observing. Lingering. Loitering. She goes to a small nearby diner where she eats alone, getting her usual tea and croissant. She typically comes around here every morning at exactly 8AM—she arrives around 8:12AM by walking. Today, she was three minutes past.
I wondered if it was me keeping her up.
The hold she had over me was maddening. I have watched her everyday of her life for 385 days and counting.
I thought I knew what insanity was until I didn’t.
Insanity wasn’t just merely obsessing over someone or something and going insane for it, no. It was much more than that.
It was ripping every strand of your hair out for everytime you could not talk to them. It was blood dripping down your forearms from the harsh grip you held on the thorny stems of flowers, only to see she received them from someone else. It was the blinding of your own actions when it came down to it. It was putting your life on the line if it meant she’d notice me.
It was piecing together your mind, your heart and soul to fit the perfect image of the perfect husband she could ever ask for.
Blood dripped from every crevice in my body, every crack of insanity on my skin until it puddled around me. I was drowning. Crying. Held in a vise grip.
A straitjacket wouldn’t be enough to hold me back—I would know, I’ve tried.
No. They’d need something much stronger than that… but, even then, nothing would stop me from the alluring obsession that Darcella had on me.
Darcella.. Darcella.. Darcella. Darcella. Darcella. DARCELLA
